Inactive lead follow-ups send a message when a fan stops replying, so a quiet conversation can start again. Use both short-term and long-term follow-ups when your strategy allows, and prioritize the leads worth reviving with their lead score.
Short-term follow-up
Sent after a short delay, from 1 to 30 minutes depending on the setting. A 10-minute delay is often balanced: soon enough to keep tension, but not so fast the creator looks desperate.
Long-term follow-up
The final nudge after a longer quiet period, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, or 12 hours. Choose the send time carefully. A strong default is around 19:00, when many fans are off work but not yet asleep, and it pairs well with evening chatter shifts.
Get the timing right
- Keep follow-up messages light and human.
- Don't make the creator sound needy or robotic.
- Use the correct timezone. A good send time does nothing if the timezone is wrong.
- Align long-term follow-ups with the moment your team is ready to recover the conversation.
Tip: Follow-ups work best alongside activation hours, schedule the long-term nudge for when your chatters are online to take over.
